Scott Erich (Oman, 2015-2016) has been awarded a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad grant to study oceanic governance in the Gulf of Oman. Scott is a doctoral candidate in anthropology at City University of New York and plans to travel to the United Arab Emirates as soon as it is safe.
“The global ocean is in dire need of scholarly attention not just from biologists, climatologists, and other hard scientists, but from social scientists who can attempt to grasp the social nature of climate change and the human efforts to address it through cooperation and governance,” he said.
