Israeli intelligence officials acknowledge that despite the country’s continued backing of a “maximum pressure” policy on Tehran, it has not been shown to be effective, former fellow Neri Zilber (Israel, 2011-2013) reports in Newlines Magazine.
“The prospect, held out by former Trump officials and some in Israel,” he writes, “that the Iranian regime would collapse from within due to economic pressure and public discontent is remote, according to two senior Israeli security officials.”
