As ICWA’s managing editor, Dan edits dispatches from fellows, oversees the Global Currents section, produces the From the Field podcast and manages the institute’s content partnership with Slate. In nearly a decade as a foreign correspondent focused on Eastern Europe, he has covered Vladimir Putin’s Russia, revolution and war in Ukraine, as well as a range of other issues across the former Soviet Union. Prior to joining ICWA, he produced newsletters and contributed features on global trends and newsmakers for the U.S. media company OZY. He holds a graduate degree from the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs.
